Love Radically was created out of our family’s own heartache resulting from our daughter’s attachment disorder. For years we lived in shame and believed the lies that this was our fault or that we could have done something differently to change it. No one in the adoption community was openly talking about attachment disorders, and when we would share with friends and family, they either couldn’t understand it, or worse, didn’t believe us. Our life was consumed by trauma, and we had never felt so alone.
At some point, the Lord gave us the courage to begin sharing with people about our family’s struggles with RAD. Over time the most miraculous things happened: we began to experience healing in our own hearts, and other people started coming to us to share their own experiences.
God gave us a desire to use our brokenness to serve others. His word says that He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and that is right where we want to be too.
